Jim is a Principal at Environmental Partners with over 30 years of experience in a wide variety of Traffic & Transportation projects for numerous municipalities, MassDOT, and private sector clients.
His experience includes performing and overseeing all areas of Transportation Engineering from in-depth transportation/traffic studies to peer reviews, from downtown urban design to scenic rural corridors, from optimizing travel times to traffic calming, and from public hearings to expert testimony. Specializing in Complete Streets and identifying the right treatments in the right locations, Jim successfully guides clients and communities to make decisions to achieve the optimal balance that works for the location recognizing each project is unique and each community has varying priorities. Additionally, he regularly assists clients with budgeting, establishing Capital Improvement Plans, identifying funding opportunities, public education and outreach, and supports advancing projects from concept through bid and construction phases.
A registered Professional Engineer (Traffic) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Jim is an active member of many organizations including the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE); American Public Works Association (APWA); the Highway Associations of Barnstable, Essex, Norfolk Bristol Middlesex, Plymouth, and Worcester Counties; and the Massachusetts Highway Association (MHA).
